SCOTT WEBER

Clark County Clerk

The County Clerk is an elected position created under the Washington Constitution and is the administrative and financial officer for the Superior Court. The Clerk receives, processes and preserves all documents in perpetuity for all Superior Court actions, including criminal, civil, family law, probate, guardianship, paternity, adoption and juvenile, and manages court case-related deposits and disbursements. The Clerk must be independent to maintain the integrity of the court records.

I have served the courts and the citizens of Clark County by providing high-quality, efficient, and effective service. During my time as Clerk, I deployed an independent imaging system that in 2024 allowed the court to function even as the statewide system was unavailable and most counties in the state were seriously impacted.

Public officials must have the highest standards of excellence, integrity, and fairness.  During my time in office, I have made significant positive changes, resulting in better, and more responsive customer service.  For example, improving the collection of restitution for crime victims, real-time public access to documents and electronic filing - saving citizens legal costs.  Keeping court records open and accessible is an essential function of the Clerk's office.
